What the integration does

Get paid by card on invoices

Choose Pay by card (Stripe) as the payment method on an invoice. Staks creates a Stripe Payment Link and adds a Pay now button to the invoice PDF and email. Your customer pays on Stripe Checkout without a Stripe account.

Collect subscriptions by card

Choose Pay by card on a Staks subscription to get a recurring Stripe Payment Link. When your customer subscribes, Stripe bills each period and Staks records a paid invoice for it. Existing Stripe subscriptions are imported too.

Import your Stripe activity

Staks imports your Stripe charges, fees, refunds and payouts, first from your history and then as they happen. Payments and Stripe fees are posted to your Staks ledger.

Match payments to invoices

Each charge is matched to a Staks invoice by the invoice number in its metadata, or by amount and customer. A payment that does not match one invoice goes to a review list instead of being applied.

See every payment in one place

The Payments page lists Stripe charges and payments you record by hand, with tabs for payments that need review and for your Stripe payouts. Filter by date, status and source.

Know when an invoice is paid

When a card payment settles an invoice in full, the invoice changes to Paid, the payment appears in its activity, and your team receives an invoice paid email.

How to set it up

01

Connect Stripe

In Staks, open Integrations and click Connect on the Stripe card, or install Staks from the Stripe App Marketplace. Approve access on Stripe’s screen.

02

Send an invoice

Create an invoice and choose Pay by card (Stripe) as the payment method. Send it by email or share the payment link.

03

Get paid

When your customer pays, Staks records the payment and the Stripe fee against the invoice and updates its status.

Frequently asked questions

What does Staks import from Stripe?
Charges, fees, refunds, payouts, customers and subscriptions. Importing products is optional. Standalone Stripe invoices are not copied into Staks as separate invoices, so revenue is not counted twice; their payments are imported and matched like any other charge.
Does the Stripe integration cost extra?
No. It is included in every Staks plan. Stripe charges its standard processing fee on each payment, and Staks records that fee in your ledger.
Do my customers need a Stripe account?
No. They pay by card on a Stripe-hosted payment page.
What happens when a payment does not match an invoice?
Staks does not guess. The payment is recorded as an unapplied customer payment and listed for review, where you can match it to an invoice, create an invoice from it, or ignore it.
Can Staks move money out of my Stripe account?
No. Staks has read access to your Stripe data and permission to create payment links. It cannot refund, transfer or pay out money.
Where do I use the integration?
Inside Staks, on the Integrations, Invoices, Subscriptions and Payments pages. The app does not add a view to your Stripe Dashboard.
How do I disconnect Stripe?
Open Integrations in Staks, open the Stripe card and click Disconnect, or uninstall Staks from your Stripe Dashboard. Data already imported stays in Staks.
